About MyWeddingSeats
MyWeddingSeats is a free tool for building a wedding reception seating chart: add your guest list, set up your tables with their own seat counts, assign each guest with a dropdown, and see the whole plan at a glance -- who's unseated, which tables are over capacity, and your running totals. When it's done, print it.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. There's no account, no upload, and no server-side database -- your guest list and table assignments are saved to your browser's local storage as you work, so your plan is still there if you close the tab or reload the page. It is not sent anywhere, which also means it's only available on the same browser and device where you built it.
Where the etiquette guidance comes from
The seating conventions described on the homepage (head table vs. sweetheart table, seating divorced parents, kids' tables, splitting large friend groups) are drawn from The Knot's wedding seating etiquette guide and corroborated independently by For Your Party's seating etiquette guide. They're described as common approaches, not universal rules -- every family and every wedding is different, and the planner itself lets you set up tables however your actual guest list needs.
What this tool doesn't do
It doesn't auto-assign guests to tables for you, sync between devices, or export a shareable link -- it's a single-browser planning tool with a print view, not a collaborative event-planning platform.
Who built this
